Actor Peter Purves is best known for Blue Peter but he was also one of Dr Who's assistants and now  presents Cruft's Dog Show.  He approached A James Baldry about a new kitchen because, like so many of Jim's clients, AJB had been personally recommended.  Peter had a clear idea of what he wanted based on a kitchen in pictures he supplied.  Peter was particularly keen that the microwave should be out of site when not in use.  Jim tweaked and fine tuned  the design including a space saving lift up and slide in door to conceal the microwave.

The kitchen was finished in satin paint and the maple worktops sealed with finishing oil.  This is a very durable finish and unlike lacquer finishes the oil can be re-applied when wear appears around sinks and hobs ... and yes there were three dogs "helping" when the kitchen was installed.
